However, a significant amount of waste is produced daily and, when not used in some way, it generates gases favorable to the greenhouse effect during its decomposition process, making it the biggest problem faced by the agro-industrial sector. Gaining more and more space, the generation of energy through biomass is already highlighted among the most used renewable energy sources in Brazil and in the global energy matrix. Given the scenario where environmental damage, caused not only by dependence on fossil fuels, adds up to major problems, in addition to the recurrent ones caused by climate change and lack of strategic planning. The use of waste generated by agroindustry has gained more and more utility, as it offers numerous environmental and economic advantages, being considered a source of clean and renewable energy with enormous potential for application.
Thiago Franchi Pereira da Silva, Júlia Oliveira Fernandes, Hudson Vinicios Tavares Mineiro Copyright (c) 2021 International Journal of Geoscience, Engineering and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/444 Fri, 29 Oct 2021 00:00:00 +0000 Exploring culverts and bridges of the old railway sub-track between Diamantina and Monjolos - To know to protect https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/445
This article is the result of the Specialization Course in Geoprocessing of IFNMG, dealing with data survey of hydraulic structures of the old railway sub-track Diamantina to Monjolos, Minas Gerais, opened in May 1914, comprising 92.5km, with activities ended in 1973. Nowadays it is sought out by walkers and cyclists, and for contemplation of nature, presenting tourist potential. After the closing of the railway activities, its bridges and culverts have accumulated degradation processes over the years, due to lack of maintenance or even by natural or anthropic action. Understanding that to preserve it is necessary to know, through geotechnological principles, we proceeded to collect information in the field of these structures during 8 (eight) days between the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, we elaborated the respective georeferenced database, adopted SRTM image for the generation of information about the local surface water network and generated thematic maps and tables about the collected and elaborated information. As an example of verification of hydraulic functioning, one of the ogival culverts was detailed, with dimensions collected in the field and respective hydrological and hydraulic studies based on the previously mentioned actions. The database generated was made available to the project Trilha Verde da Maria Fumaça, in the process of creating the management council of the sub-track, which was passed on to the City Halls of Diamantina and Gouveia, with the aim of triggering the attention of the competent bodies, in order to maintain the stretch in usable conditions for present and future generations.
Frank Alison de Carvalho, Paulo Marinho de Oliveira Copyright (c) 2021 International Journal of Geoscience, Engineering and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/445 Fri, 29 Oct 2021 00:00:00 +0000 Beams subjected to simple bending- Rectangular section and T https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/446
Beams are structural elements that are scaled to support the requests that are submitted. It is often used, especially in Brazil, the construction method of beams in reinforced concrete, this type of structure consists in the use of frames made with steel bars and covered in concrete. The individual concrete has high compressive strength and low tensile strength, so the steel, with high tensile strength, used in beams and other reinforced concrete structures, acts fighting tensile stresses and the two materials must work as a monolithic set. The method for sizing beams subjected to simple bending for rectangular sections and T or L sections is shown in a practical example. The method proved to be efficient and the results of the sizing of the beams were satisfactory.
Karoline Souza Pereira Alves, Maria Vitória dos Santos Fernandes, Thiago Bomjardim Porto Copyright (c) 2021 International Journal of Geoscience, Engineering and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/446 Fri, 29 Oct 2021 00:00:00 +0000 Application of Organometallic Coating in Automotive Fuel Tanks as an Ecodesign Strategy: A Case Study https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/447
The environmental sustainability aspect has increasingly become a decision factor in the choice of products or services by society and concomitantly has been more valued in the business and academic environment. The search for efficiency in the use of resources and the need to increase competitiveness are on the agenda of all areas of the automotive industry, including with regard to pollution caused by emissions of gases from combustion, but also in relation to recycling, lifetime and the effects of the use of heavy metals in vehicle manufacturing. Product development considering ecodesign presents itself as an important alternative to contribute to sustainability - environmental dimension. Currently, it is possible to find automotive tanks with organometallic coating to replace tinned ones and polymer tanks. This article aims to evaluate the ecological gains of ecodesign for fuel tanks in a supplier company in the automotive segment. As a methodology, a case study was carried out through a semi-structured questionnaire in the application of organometallic coating as an alternative to an eco-efficient product. The results indicated a greater efficiency in the use of organometallic coating as an ecological alternative due to the cleaner production process and the non-use of toxic metals in its composition. It is concluded that the adoption of ecodesign practices in the development of products such as organometallic coating in automotive fuel tanks allows obtaining environmental improvements without giving up other aspects, in addition to being an important competitive advantage.
Edson Silva, Mariana Costa Laktim, Sebastiana Lana, Rita de Castro Engler Copyright (c) 2021 International Journal of Geoscience, Engineering and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/447 Fri, 29 Oct 2021 00:00:00 +0000 Mapping of geological and environmental risks from the Aécio Cunha dam to the Teófilo Otoni bus station https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/448
This work presents the Mapping of Geological Risks on the slopes of the Todos os Santos River, in Teófilo Otoni / MG, with the objective of knowing, identifying, analyzing and mapping the risks on the slopes, in the stretch of the Aécio Cunha dam to the road station in downtown. The relevance of this work was based on the need to present, report on environmental impacts and warn of risks. A bibliographic and field research was carried out, with a case study in the area using data collection techniques. In the field research, a mapping of risk areas was carried out in the years 2016 and 2021. Fourteen sectors were identified in the coverage area, among them 08 sectors presented risk areas, six sectors with risks related to mass movement, where the sectors 01 and 02 presented low risk (R1), sector 07, 13 and 14 medium risk (R2) and sector 09 and with high risk (R3). Sectors 03 and 12 were classified as areas of risk of inundations and spate with low risk (R1) and high risk (R3) respectively, and within the sectors of the coverage area, none presented very high risk (R4). From the mapping of risk areas and their association with mass movement, inundations and spates, it is possible to adopt measures to minimize risks, implement actions, stimulate the effective participation of society and make data available to government institutions, as well as present measures to be instituted, with the objective of bringing benefits to the whole society.
Raul César Ferreira Durães, Luély Souza Guimarães, Cibele Aparecida Moraes Rocha, Gisele Monteiro de Sousa, Antônio Jorge de Lima Gomes Copyright (c) 2021 International Journal of Geoscience, Engineering and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/448 Fri, 29 Oct 2021 00:00:00 +0000 Alert prototype for landslide for risk areas using the Arduino platform https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/450
The landslides are almost always associated with natural disasters, with loss of human lives, great financial loss to government and the need to relocate families to new homes. In Brazil, the situation causes great concern to civil society and government authorities, landslides occur very frequently in the initial months of the year. This type of disaster is mostly influenced by several factors, the main ones being the poor distribution of the urban network, the lack of infrastructure, the waterproofing and deforestation of the soil and finally the tropical climate and the high rainfall during summer. Thus, this work has the objective of developing an alert sensor for landslides for risk areas using an Arduino platform, through the analysis of soil moisture on the slopes.
Gustavo Henrique B. de Oliveira, Celso Amaral Cordeiro, Ayolle Milena Silva Ávila, Isabela Guimarães Cyriaco, Daniel Moraes Santos Copyright (c) 2021 International Journal of Geoscience, Engineering and Technology https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/450 Fri, 29 Oct 2021 00:00:00 +0000 Contribution to the study of dam rupture https://revistas.ufvjm.edu.br/ijget/article/view/451
This work aims to contribute to the study and analysis of the stability of dams in Brazil and in the world, in addition to studying the reasons for their failure, from a literary review, with important data and information.
