Associação entre comportamento infantil no ambiente odontológico e o tipo de tratamento restaurador

Resumo

O comportamento da criança no ambiente odontológico é um fenômeno complexo, influenciado por diversos fatores. É possível que a complexidade do tratamento odontológico influencie na cooperação do paciente infantil. Assim, o presente estudo objetivou avaliar a associação entre o comportamento da criança e o tipo de procedimento restaurador realizado no consultório odontológico, O mesmo

trata-se de um estudo transversal. Foram avaliadas as fichas de pacientes que frequentaram a clínica odontológica de Pós-Graduação da Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM) e passaram por consultas odontológicas para realizar o tratamento restaurador atraumático e restaurações convencionais de resina composta. Na primeira consulta era preenchido um questionário socioeconômico e um questionário de ansiedade materna. O comportamento das crianças foi avaliado de acordo com a escala de Frankl. Para a análise dos dados foi feito o modelo hierárquico de Regressão de Poisson. Considerou-se significativo p< 0,05. Foram avaliadas 150 crianças com média de idade de 6,15 (±1,98) anos. No modelo final da Regressão de Poisson permaneceram associadas ao comportamento da criança na consulta restauradora, o procedimento restaurador e o hábito de morder objetos. Deste modo, observou-se que crianças submetidas ao tratamento restaurador convencional tendem a apresentar um pior comportamento no ambiente odontológico.
