Papel do turismo no desenvolvimento das periferias de uma pequena economia insular rumo à convergencia interregional

A dinâmica do turismo nos territórios depende muito das redes de contato ao nivel do comércio internacional, onde os autores são unânimes em como o Investimento Direto Estrangeiro (IDE) propicía a alavancagem do turismo nos territórios da periferia, conjuntamente com os fatores de atração (caraterísticas específicas dos territórios recetores) e fatores impulsionadores (caraterísticas específicas das empresas e do país de proveniência). É neste contexto, que o estudo de estratégias sobre como atenuar as desigualdades de desenvolvimento socioeconómico existentes entre diferentes territórios de um mesmo país ou região passou a ser objeto de planificação científica nas Academias, desde os anos 80, periodo da formatação da disciplina “empreendedorismo” nas Escolas de Negócio, quando se gerou uma controvérsia (ainda não resolvida), sobre se o crescimento provocava a atenuação ou a acentuação dessas mesmas desigualdades. (2) Que fatores institucionais impulsionadores do IDE e fatores de atração nos territórios da periferia devem ser incrementados pelos modelos de crescimento económico? e (3) Atualmente existem diferenças entre as ilhas cabo-verdianas no que se refere aos fatores institucionais impulsionadores do crescimento económico? Para responder, nesta pesquisa procuramos identificar as teorias e modelos de crescimento económico mais favoráveis à convergência interregional, a partir do estudo de Cabo Verde, onde se realizou o trabalho empírico, com vista a o conhecimento das isonomias ou assimetrias territoriais e comportamentais no plano subnacional.
