Abstract

This paper was built through an identification of river styles and valley bottoms made by the adaptation of Brierley & Fryirs (2005) and Rosgen (1994). The main objective is to identify and classify the river styles and valley botoms in Gaia’s Stream basin, Northeast of Quadrilátero Ferrífero – MG. This paper presents a classification model that can be useful to others studies. The valley of Gaia’s Stream represents the fluvial geomorphology scenery of Northeast of Quadrilátero Ferrífero. This work integrates technical office work and analysis of data collected in field to propose a classification of valley bottoms. We identified six valley bottom settings in Gaia’s Stream. Each configuration shows specific processes and fluvial forms, as well as the consequences of regional human actions.
